World's Most Horrifying Escalator vs. Umeda Sky Building In Osaka, Japan

The Umeda Sky Building being the 19th tallest building in Osaka Prefecture, Japan has a pair of escalators positioned between the two towers. After it’s completion it quickly became one of the most recognizable landmarks in the area. This set of 2 tower goes up 40 stories which are connected at the top with a bridge. The pair of escalors span across from under the bridge up through a hole in the bridge at the top.
The building was originally conceived in 1988 as the City of Air project which consisted of 4 towers all interconnected. Japan economic bubble burst in the 80s which ended up with the plan of 4 towers going down to 2. Designed by Hiroshi Hara the Umeda Sky Building measuring 568 feet or 173 meters tall was completed in 1993. The escalators connect between the 35th and 36th floors of the towers which lead up to the rooftop observatory and floating garden observatory.
Located in the Umeda district of Kita-ku of Osaka this escalator is not for those with a fear of heights. Stepping onto the steps you’ll ride through multiple arches framed with windows as you coast to the other side. With nothing besides the escalator steps at your feet would you be able to enjoy the vast spanning views of the city with 500 foot or 150 meter drop to the pavement?
